Initiatives at ANZCO (New Zealand)

The ANZCO Group is headquartered in New Zealand and exports beef, lamb, and other products to 80 countries around the world. The group takes animal welfare seriously and has established its own animal welfare guidelines and other initiatives.
All ANZCO-operated meat processing plants have permanent Ministry for Primary Industries-approved (New Zealand) animal welfare offices staffed by certified animal welfare employees.
The company conducts internal audits that include internal verification of animal handling from arrival to slaughter, performed by animal welfare personnel at each plant. The audits also cover internal audit records and surveillance camera footage.
These efforts are part of the high compliance structure for animal welfare at the company.
