Inauguration of the Mishima Plant

Itoham Yonekyu Holdings Co., Ltd. (the “Company”; Headquarters: Meguro-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Hiroyuki Urata) announces the completion of the Mishima Plant, a processed meat production facility constructed in Mishima City, Shizuoka Prefecture, through its subsidiary Itoham Yonekyu Plant Co., Ltd. (Kashiwa City, Chiba Prefecture; President and CEO: Tadanobu Kujime). The facility was completed on September 10, 2026.

The Mishima Plant is a next-generation model facility for the Group's processed foods business, built with a total investment of approximately JPY 30 billion and incorporating the technologies and expertise of the Itoham Yonekyu Group. The plant will produce approximately 20,000 metric tons annually, primarily comprising the Group's main products. The entire plant has been optimally designed to achieve high productivity through extensive automation and efficient inter-process logistics. In addition, the introduction of environmentally friendly equipment will help reduce environmental impact. By achieving a high level of balance among productivity, quality, and environmental responsibility, the Mishima Plant aims to serve as a core production hub that supports the stable supply of safe, reliable, and high-quality products and strengthens the competitiveness of the Group's processed foods business.

 — Advanced Automation and Operational Efficiency —

We will optimize factory layouts as well as production and logistics flows while actively introducing automated equipment to achieve high productivity and consistent quality. Specifically, by promoting automation across a wide range of processes—including raw material handling, packaging, and logistics— we will improve operational efficiency and ease workloads while strengthening quality control and traceability. Furthermore, the plant will also promote digital transformation through the use of AI and data to enhance production and equipment management.

Sustainable
 —  Caring for People and the Environment —

The plant has been designed with resource conservation, energy efficiency, recycling, and employee well-being in mind, creating a sustainable production base that supports both people and the environment. Specifically, in addition to reducing water and energy consumption, we will work to minimize our environmental impact by promoting the effective utilization of food processing byproducts and wastewater sludge generated during the manufacturing process. Furthermore, by reducing the workload through automation and creating a comfortable workplace environment, we will promote the development of a workplace where diverse employees can thrive.

The plant features a visitor tour route that showcases the production processes behind our ham and sausage products, their history, and our commitment to quality manufacturing. By giving visitors the opportunity to experience our products and production facilities firsthand, we aim to create opportunities for engagement with the local community and our customers.


Itoham Yonekyu Group positions its Mishima Plant as a next-generation model facility for its processed foods business and, through the stable supply of safe, reliable, and high-quality products, aims to contribute to the realization of sound and affluent societies through food.
