Contributions to Local Communities

sustainability2

We provide funds for Kobe Forest School activities and Employee volunteers participate.

Kobe City, which celebrated the 100th anniversary of afforestation in 2002, is promoting the “Mt. Rokko Forestation for the Next 100 Years,” which aims to conserve and nurture forests for the next 100 years in the Rokko mountain range. As part of this effort, the ITOHAM Group supports the Kobe Forest School, in which citizens, local governments, and companies collaborate in forest conservation activities based on Futatabi-san (Mt. Rokko) in the Rokko mountain range.
In the Kobe Forest School, citizens plant trees, thin out the forest, and take care of other forests, as well as build log houses and make woodcrafts using wood from thinned forests and other forest blessings. The ITOHAM Group funds the activities and dispatches employee volunteers as part of its natural environment protection activities. Participants also receive a gift of our products each time they take part.
On October 8, 2013, the ITOHAM Group concluded a comprehensive partnership agreement with the City of Kobe and pledged to continue to support the Kobe Forest School for 10 years. We will continue to support “Kobe Forest School” and actively implement forest protection activities. We look forward to your participation in our activities.

Providing learning opportunities

Participating in vocational lectures at elementary and junior high schools

As a Numazu City Office for Gender Equality, Yonekyu participates in vocational lectures for students of elementary and junior high schools in Numazu City. Our employees serve as lecturers, sharing their thoughts on work, including our business, their own work, the rewards and hardships of their work, and their experiences of going on to higher education and finding employment. We help students learn the importance of gender equality and respect for human rights, as well as to develop their individuality and abilities regardless of gender, and help them develop an interest in a variety of topics so that they can make a wide range of choices regarding their future dreams and career paths.
