Biodiversity Conservation Initiatives
Biodiversity Restoration Project
Biodiversity is an important component of a thriving ecosystem.
ANZCO owns the FIVE STAR Ranch, home to many rare and endangered plants.
We work with the Forest and Bird Protection Association and the QEII National Trust to protect these rare plants on the 20-acre* property.
The Ashburton district, where the site is located, is home to a population of the rare kowhai (a legume tree native to New Zealand), estimated to be about 100 years old.
We will continue to work with local conservation groups to protect existing ecosystems and plant trees.

Water Resources
ANZCO prioritizes water use and optimization at production plants to improve water resource efficiency.
As an example, the RANGITIKEI plant reduced water consumption by 40% by reviewing plant processes.
This significant reduction has resulted in many benefits for the plant, particularly in reducing the load on the wastewater treatment system.
